One of my favourite soundtracks ever. And I'm now the very proud owner of an original 1966 first British print in mono. I first saw Un Homme et Une Femme when I was 20 years old. I loved everything about it. The long silences, the F1 cars, even how corny everything was. And, of course, the music. Baden Powell's Samba da Benção in French, Francis Lai's genius orchestrations and the 2/4 bar in the theme song, which really creates a sense of emergency, of anticipation, of danger, of two lovers finally coming together. And that Autumn foggy beach!
